Meet Our Team

Our staff is dedicated to providing our patients with excellent dental care. We pride ourselves in providing comprehensive treatment in a comfortable atmosphere with a friendly, experienced staff. We have a registered nurse and 2 registered dental hygienists on staff.

• Dr. James P. Murphy Dr. Murphy has practiced in Norfolk for the past 36 years. His professional affiliations include the North District Dental Society, the Nebraska Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the American Association of Dental Examiners, the Central Regional Dental Testing Agency, and the Nebraska Board of Dental Examiners. He is a member of the American College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. For more information, you can read his full biography.
• Kathy Godel – Dental Assistant Kathy is a Norfolk native. She graduated from Norfolk High School in 1970 and Norfolk Junior College in 1972, with an Associates Degree in Business. Kathy began working as a chairside assistant in 1974 with Dr. Leo Spittler, D.D.S. and remained with him until he retired in 1994. After working at the Norfolk Daily News for two years she joined Dr. Murphy’s staff in 1996. Kathy is a chairside assistant and has her x-ray and coronal polishing certification.
• Barb Bergt – Registered Nurse Barb is a Beemer native and graduated from Beemer High School in 1970. She continued her education and graduated from Nebraska Methodist School of Nursing as a registered nurse in 1974. After working at Lutheran community Hospital, she joined Dr. Murphy’s staff as a chairside assistant in 1975. Barb is x-ray and coronal polishing certified.
• Megan Dubas – Business Manager Megan is a Primrose native and graduated from Cedar Rapids High School in 1999. She worked at Farmers Mutual Insurance as a payment coordinator for four years. She then moved to Stanton and worked at Faith Regional Hospital as a Registration Clerk. Megan joined Dr. Murphy’s staff in 2005 as an Office Manager.
• Robin Eberhardt – Registered Dental Hygienist Robin is a native of a small town called Western, near Fairbury. She graduated from Meridian High School in 1980. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene and a minor in psychology from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1988. Robin worked at a local dental office in Norfolk for five years before joining Dr. Murphy’s staff in 1994. Robin also works one day a week with a local periodontist.
• Janice Schackelton – Registered Dental Hygienist Janice is a native of Illinois where she completed a dental assistant program in 1981. Janice had the opportunity to work as a dental assistant before graduating from dental hygiene school in 1985. She focused her skills in a periodontal practice for 5+ years. She has always been happy to improve smiles for a general practicing dentist. Janice along with her husband and two daughters relocated to Nebraska in 1994. She feels fortunate to find herself working alongside dedicated and caring dental professionals. Janice works as a dental hygienist in our office one day a week and has been on staff since 1995.
